Pollo y telenovellas

Mom loves her latin soap operas but she found that she enjoyed them more when she accompanied them with pollo ala brasa. Peruvian style rotisserie chicken, from Chicken Rico in Highlandtown. Yum! Fried yuca and chicha (a peruvian drink made from purple corn) too! And an alfajor (a peruvian cookie) for dessert! Mom says we're having this again while she's here.

Mom in Canton

Mom loved Canton Square. It was still a little cool but trees were flowering all over town and this line of trees was just spectacular.

Bud!

My mom is visiting me for two weeks and while I was showing her around town we came across this Budweiser promotion in Canton Square.

Beagle Convalescence

We got back to Baltimore and Cesky had some surgery. So here he is recovering from the surgery and anesthesia while Derek recovered from a bad hair day.

Flat Stanley Gets Some Chocolate

Ghirardelli Square, the former home of the Ghirardelli chocolate factory.

Taking the Ferry Back to San Francisco

You can take a ferry ride back across the water. You're bike can go too. It was a beautiful sunset.

The first picture is looking back on the little town of Tiburon as we shoved off. The second picture is of San Francisco. Flat Stanley thought it was a beautiful ride.

Well Deserved Indulgence

After 16 miles on a bike, Flat Stanley felt that a raspberry/white chocolate sorbet was called for! I was too tired to argue since I pedaled us BOTH all the way there. Stanley didn't even offer to take a turn! <grumble>

So I got the sorbet and a delicious gouda briouche from Cafe Acri. Yum!

Oh No! Helmet Head!

This is what happens when you wear bike helmets for too long, triple fake mohawk, or faux-hawk. But everyone should wear bike helmets! I've broken both my wrist and my collarbone and my bike helmet kept my head completely safe! Get more info here at the Bicycle Helmet Safety Institute.

All The Way To Tiburon!

It was such a nice day Flat Stanley and Tio Pepe decided to keep riding all the way to Tiburon. Another little town with great views of San Francisco, The Golden Gate Bridge and the Bay Bridge. What a great ride!

We Made It!

All the way to pretty little Sausalito!

On the Bridge!

After a steep climb up a hill on the bike Flat Stanley and I finally made it onto the Golden Gate Bridge! It was still wonderful weather and perfect spots to take pictures!
This last picture is a view of Marin County just across the water to the north of San Francisco. Look at that coastline!

Snack Break

We stopped for a frank from "Let's Be Frank" at Ft. Point with a great view of both the city and bridge. Beautiful and delicious!

Palace of Fine Arts

Flat Stanley and I started our ride with a visit to The Palace of Fine Arts a building area built for the 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition. We thought it was important to get an idea of how big these columns are so Flat Stanley agreed to be our example. He's in three pictures in this set. Can you find him?
