Partied too hard!

It was either just too late for my nephew or he had too much fun today.

Bouquet & Garter

The traditional throwing of the bouquet and garter.

The couple and their table

The couple had a lovely table to themselves.

Food & Cake!

There was a fantastic spread of food and a beautiful cake. It was spectacular.

Dancing

There was a lot of dancing by all members of the family. The music was a great mix of Arabic, Latino and modern US music.

First Dance

The first dance for the married couple.

Grand Entrance

The wedding party entered the hall with the Persian musicians playing a lively piece. They danced around the center of the hall with the guests clapping along.

Happy Day

Family gathered around the dinner tables waiting for the wedding parties grand entrance.

Hors d'oeuvre on the Balcony

It was cold and windy but very clear. We met some cousins for the first time and became reacquainted with others. All while enjoying a wonderful spread!

The Wedding

My Peruvian cousin married an Iranian. It was a great mix of Christian and Persian ceremonies in San Francisco. It was great. Persian musicians and traditional Persian celebration mixed in with not just a Christian service but a Latin Christian service. Very cool!

Mom enjoy's the view

After the parade and festival, we walked up to Mission Dolores. It was bright and warm. We took a train back to her hotel.

Carnaval in the Mission

It was a beautiful day in the Mission for Carnaval! I decided to take my mom to see the Latino district in San Francisco and we discovered it was Carnaval. We wandered around the district enjoyed hours of a parade and went to a fantastic festival! Mom loved it! If we didn't have to get going to the wedding we could have stayed for several more hours.

Mom's haircut

Mom has a hard time getting her hair cut. She believes that most non-Latino stylists have difficulty cutting the hair of Latinos. She couldn't get an appointment for a cut before coming to San Francisco. She was very excited to find a salon in the Mission with Latino stylists. She jumped at the chance to get her hair cut.

Breakfast

Continental breakfast at the hotel. My mom some of my cousins enjoying breakfast at the hotel. My mother with the bride and her siblings at breakfast.

Last minute shopping and siteseeing

My sister needed to buy shoes for her son before we got started with the siteseeing. My sister and nephew are in front of the Shoe Pavillion. This first picture was taken from their hotel room where I went with my mother so she could get something warmer on.

From there, we went for a ride on a cable car, shopped in China Town, and had fried seafood at Fisherman's Wharf climbed the hill to the top of Lombard Street.
